I could see Nam possibly going if a team wants to shore up its 3rd line. Granted his scoring ain't worth a damn this year, but he is doing everything else right.

I'd honestly take him to be a third line center. Not gonna happen, but I'm sure right after you posted this you said to yourself "I wonder if Chief would take him?".

Well now you have your answer.

Really depends what the deal would be. I just have a feeling though that Nam is worth more to us than any other team. I think he stays put

1 more week. Let's hope the Canes, Wild, Devils and Caps put pecker slappings on this team.

If, and I know it’s a big if, we’re able to trade Shattenkirk what type of return are we looking at?

They won't, they aren't, so nothing in return.

I don’t see us losing to devils or wild unfortunately, wild looked awful yesterday. Completely disinterested

Devils won 2 in row. Let's hope Schneider keeps winning and screws them inadvertently.

Edit: And the wild can (frank) off. They do this every year. Like clockwork. Huge underpreformers.

For a 30 year old defenseman that costs a lot of money, has been injured a few times over the last two seasons, and isn't producing offense? Probably not much.

That dude's gotta be kicking himself for taking a discount to play for the Rangers on his last chance to cash in. He probably could've been making $7M or more on a longer deal somewhere else instead of stuck with a rebuilding team.

On top of the rumors league wide that are out there, there will also likely be others involving some expected to be Cup contenders, who have struggled for various game length stretches. The Nashville and Winnipeg rumors have already been out there, with the Preds especially needing another key piece or two, as per their 7-7-2 record only in their last 16 games, while the Jets are only 5-4-2 over their last 11.

Other expected Cup contenders at the start of the season who could use either a role player or two, or even an impact swap or rental addition if having or able to create necessary cap space include:

Toronto: 10-9-1 in their last 20 games
Washington: 8-10-4 in last 22
Pittsburgh: 6-8-1 over last 15
Vegas: 5-9-0 in their last 14

Then you have all others being anywhere from all out sellers up to surprise Cup contenders, that will make it an interesting final 8 days, provided that Ottawa doesn't hold up the action from occurring much further, if that's indeed the reason for the current delay.

Be thankful we aren't Devils. They made playoffs last year, are in win now mode, and are below the rebuilding NYR in the standings

Give me a 2nd round pick for Shattenkirk and get him out of here. Guy is complete garbage.

Who is giving you and 2nd round pick + for a guy that has to waive his NMC and them approve a trade from the list he gives the Rangers?

Just be careful, the Peg was a playoff team, tanked a season and then got Laine. I they they had more depth than the Devs, but Hall is better than anyone the Peg had on their roster then

Zuccarello is a really fun player. Always seems to kill the Penguins. He's a guy that would thrive with Jake & Sid. Penguins have too many guys at RW and cap problems. Cannot imagine Rutherford would be looking for him, especially since he said he didnt want to trade his 1st round pick.

The #Oilers have placed defenceman Brandon Manning on waivers for the purpose of assignment to the @Condors.

This team is really something else.

Listen i was wrong about Shattenkirk. I knew he wasn't great defensively. I thought he'd be better and produce more offensively and on the power play. But who wants him? Seriosuly. Even if the Rangers eat half of the money on the deal. He's 30, with a semi recent injury hisotry and looks slower than dirt. You wouldn't want him if he was being shopped by team ____. Nobody would.

In fairness, they seem to be just cleaning up Chiarelli's mess. The moves look embarrassing but not making them just for the sake of saving face would probably be worse.

I think even with Zucc, Penguins arent there in terms of being a Cup contender. A lot of passengers this season and a need to reset this offseason. Penguins still have a few good years left with Crosby/Malkin to try to win one or two more Cups.

I'm not sure I want Zuccarello, he might become another Brassard for us.

I think other teams fans underrate Zuccarello. He does so much on the ice
